Field Trip

We are developing two field trips for this conference and conference attendees will have the option of picking which trip they want to participate in.  Trip selection will be on a first come, first served basis and selection is made at the time of registration. Below is some preliminary information on our planned field trips. As the details are finalized, more information will be added to this page.

Trip 1

A bus-ride tour from the sea to the mountain and back. This tour will focus on watershed conservation activities taking place in the local area. Local experts will guide you through the beautiful contryside while discussing ongoing projects in the area that are aimed at preserving and enhancing the water quality and ecological integrity of Whaingaroa Harbour.

Trip 2

A coastal walking tour of the Whaingaroa Harbour. Take a beautiful walk along the foreshore of Whaingaroa Harbour.  On the way, experts and locals will point out some of the unique features of the coast and highlight issue of importance. The walk will be approximately 5 km long. Bring your good shoes and be prepared for whatever the weather brings!
