The New Zealand Coastal Society invite you to share your knowledge, stories and love of the coastal and marine environment at this year’s conference located in Otautahi Christchurch. 

Thank you for taking the time to submit an Abstract for the upcoming NZCS Conference 2024.

These guidelines will assist you with filling out the online Abstract Submission Form. Please take a moment to read through before submitting your Abstract for consideration.

 

Key Dates:

  • Call for Abstracts open 10 June 2024
  • Abstracts close10 August 2024
  • Candidates will be advised outcome by: 30 August 2024

2024 Conference Themes:

  1. Data collection, monitoring and remote sensing
  2. Coastal ecology;
  3. Resilience and adaptation to climate change
  4. Port and coastal engineering
  5. Coastal hazards
  6. Planning and policy
  7. Working with nature/Blue Carbon
  8. Physical processes
  9. Indigenous knowledge/Mātauranga Māori

*Please consider a maximum of three themes your abstract may be applicable to.


Presentation Options:

Select a presentation that is either: Oral or Poster
Students: Please select ‘yes’ if the presenting author is a student.

 

Abstract Content:

  • Please fill out the abstract template provided and attached to the form submission
  • Use APA 7th referencing
  • Include all authors credited for the Abstract
  • Include a short Bio for each presenter
  • *No more than 200 words
  • There is a one-page limit for the Abstract using the formatting provided in the template
  • No figures to be included

Conference Registrations:

- All confirmed presenters will need to register for the conference
- Registrations will open 1 July 24

Important Notes:

Important note for abstract submitters: Preparation and supply of any handouts or materials used in presentations is the responsibility of the authors. As a commitment to attend and support the NZCS Conference, accepted presenters are expected to register and pay for attending the conference. All costs to attend the conference, including the registration fee, must be met by presenters.
