Bio: I am double PhD, 1st in Applied Mathematics and the 2nd in Physical Oceanography with a broad range of numerical modelling experience. My main interests are coastal and ocean hydro- and wave dynamics. I have over 10 years’ experience as a senior scientist in the disciplines of operational physical oceanography, coastal engineering and coastal dynamics research. The research topics of particular interest to me are the numerical modelling of wave dynamics (both nearshore and offshore, phase resolved and averaged), hydrodynamics, sediment transport (longer and shorter than seasonal scale), dispersion studies, and coastal vulnerability assessments. The before mentioned includes cross-disciplinary climate change related predictions and the communication of science to policy, governance and management. I am also an Associate Editor of the international journal Natural Hazards, by Springer.

I am a confident speaker with ample experience liaising with clients and leading stakeholder workshops. I have also led and managed research groups for a couple of years. Above all, I am a friendly and enthusiastic person with self-motivation to work hard and effectively, both in teams and alone. I am a natural leader and self-starter who loves teaching and sharing knowledge. Collaboration is key to many research questions and I am particularly good in bringing collaborators together.
