Bio: My name is Cassandra (Cassie) and I am currently undergoing a Masters (research) in Geospatial Science. For my undergraduate I majored in Marine Biology and Geospatial Science and have joined these two subjects for my thesis. I have a love of the sea through sailing, surfing and general adventure mentality so my year will consist of researching erosion and accretion at coastal landfill sites over the south coast of the South Island of New Zealand. I will be using 3D drone imagery and historic aerial data to model rates of erosion as well as providing models and restoration options for how we can manage our coastlines across all of New Zealand. I am hoping that this will lead into a rewarding and exciting career bringing my knowledge using GIS and RS into the coastal and marine space
