Senior Planning Advisor

Nelson City Council

Bio: As a Senior Planning Advisor at Nelson City Council, I am the topic lead for the coastal and natural environment sections (esp. biodiversity, conservation) during the new unitary resource management plan, the Nelson Plan, development. I also lead our coastal hazards project, where we work with the Nelson community, iwi and stakeholders to develop a coastal hazard and climate change adaptation strategy.

Previous experience includes policy work for the Ministry for the Environment (marine policy, RMA reforms), research manager at the Leibniz Academy for Spatial Research and
Planning (GER), and a PhD in coastal environmental law (as part of INTERCOAST at the Universities of Waikato (NZ) and Bremen (GER)).
