Bio: Richard is a Director of Tonkin & Taylor Ltd and is the Business Leader for Natural Hazards and Disaster Risk Reduction. He is an engineer with more than 20 years experience in coastal engineering, coastal process and coastal hazard assessments, natural hazard risk management, numerical and physical modelling. Richard holds post graduate qualifications in the field of fluid mechanics, coastal processes and multi-hazard risk assessment. Prior to joining Tonkin & Taylor Richard worked for the international hydraulic and coastal specialist consultants Delft Hydraulics.
He is sought as an expert in coastal edge design and assessment, natural hazard risk assessments, specialist peer reviewer and as an expert witness. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Engineers, New Zealand.
